Objects of Enchantment
‘Why is a raven like a writing desk?’
As adults we forget to recognise the intrinsic emotion of awe and wonder, that captivates us as children while we play or engage with things. We are now too busy to contemplate; we have lost the ability to feel wonder, things do not enchant us anymore. This work investigates this area to understand the intricate relationship we share with our daily ordinary objects. Could an ordinary object be transformed into the animate? To discover the unseen flow of these daily practices and how their gestures can be modified to create a different outcome; a moment of wonder.
